Betty T. Yee
California State Controller

Elected in November 2014, Ms. Yee has over 30 years of experience in public service, specializing in state and local finance and tax policy.  Ms. Yee previously served as Chief Deputy Director for Budget with the California Department of Finance where she led the development of the Governor’s Budget, negotiations with the Legislature and key budget stakeholders, and fiscal analyses of legislation on behalf of the Administration.  Prior to this, she served in senior staff positions for several fiscal and policy committees in both houses of the California State Legislature.  She also co-founded the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project, which exposes California high school youth to the public service, public policy, and political arenas.
 
A native of San Francisco, Ms. Yee received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and she holds a master’s degree in public administration.

 
Rear Admiral Yancy B. Lindsey
Commander, Navy Region Southwest

Rear Adm. Yancy B. Lindsey is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. He is a 1986 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a Master of Military Science from Marine Corps University and a Master of Science in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego. In addition, he completed a Federal Executive Fellowship at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.  Full Bio


 
Erik Bruvold
Economist and CEO of SDNEDC

Erik serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the San Diego North Economic Development Council.  Before Erik was the Chief Economist with the National University System and the President of the National University System Institute for Policy Research. 
 
He had responsibility for examining how academic programs throughout the system aligned with workforce needs in the communities the system services. While at National he also was head of a university-affiliated public policy and economic think tank where he oversaw the authorship of more than 100 economic and policy studies focusing on regional economic competitiveness. 
 
Erik has taught college level courses in political science, urban economic development, urban planning and international relations.   He holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of  Denver and a from the University of California, San Diego.
