Travel through the stunning landscape of California?s rural, urban, ocean, and park sceneries representing the Golden State as it was yesterday, is today, and will be in the future. Three exhibitions in one, Art in Nature: Legacy of the Land will be an unparalleled collection revisiting our historic roots. Early Artists Reflect upon California?s sea and landscape paintings by famous plein air painters of the early 20th century and see the area as it appeared in the state?s past. Contemporary Painters View authentic artwork painted by artists in the days leading up to the exhibition. These paintings will be for sale during the opening night gala and throughout the exhibition. Plein-Air Painters of Tomorrow Enjoy works created by students from schools throughout San Diego. Through curriculum coordinated by the Center?s Education Department, these students explored the style of plein-air painting, then observed and recorded the California landscapes surrounding their alma maters.
