Emerging Leaders - Understanding Diverse Communication Styles of Leaders

Understanding Diverse Communication Styles of Leaders

Hosted by Glanbia Nutritionals (NA)

You are invited to participate in our diverse communicative style session, primarily based on the DISC communication tool (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Compliance). As young professionals, we lay immense importance to our own and others observed behavioral styles and preferences so that we can communicate more effectively and respect one another's diverse perspectives. We will use DISC which is a four quadrant behavioral model to examine the behavior of individuals in their environment or within a specific situation.

Purpose:
  • DISC provides leaders with the tools that will help them to become more productive and effective by focusing on goals instead of fears.
  • DISC help leaders develop and use more of their natural strengths, while recognizing, improving upon, and modifying their limitations.
  • The DISC model does not deal with values or judgments. Instead, it concentrates on natural tendencies that influence individual behavior, pertaining to communication.
