Protect Yourself and Your Future

This workshop is designed to help participants gain the knowledge and skills they need to achieve financial security and independence.  The series will cover a range of topics related to personal finance, including creating and sticking to a budget, and saving for retirement.  Participants will learn about financial planning strategies and tools and will also gain a better understanding of different types of financial products and their associated risks and benefits.

Christopher Lycett, currently the Vice President of Retail Banking San Diego for Mechanics Bank, began his career in banking 29 years ago while attending college. He quickly learned the retail branch banking system and his career blossomed by becoming proficient at leveraging his strengths demonstrating leadership with clients and his peers. At the young age of 26, he started managing his own team and over the course of the next 13 years managed teams with some of the biggest names in banking such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Citibank. In time he moved into the business banking segment where he truly was inspired and passionate about understanding the dynamics of their own journey as business owners. His specialties have become strategic partnering, client experience roadmap, strategic business growth, revolutionizing the banking experience, business relationships and joint collaboration, and leading his teams to achieve top level results. In time channeling his passion and wanting to broaden his professional platform led Christopher to develop his own consulting company, The 360 Strategist and is also licensed as a California Real Estate advisor.

Christopher has always stayed very close to banking and previously has served as a consultant for a bank analytics firm traveling the country advising banks on how to efficiently offer services by observing and engaging with team members understanding their roles and their workflow processes. In time he would be tapped on the shoulder to work for a small community bank leading the way as business banking committee chairman, helping them build a business banking segment from the ground up.

Christopher is very active in the community and currently serves on the Economic Development Advisory Council for the North San Diego Business Chamber, was recently a panelist on leadership at the NSD Business Chamber Business Summit, serves as the South Region CRA committee chairman for community outreach at Mechanics Bank, Directory of CustoMentor, a collaborative group who mentors other professionals in San Diego, an active volunteer with HEART(Humanitarian Emergency Aid Relief Team) and a community volunteer leader with Jr Achievement San Diego, and his Christian ministry.
