WHAT: The San Diego North Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation will host a mayoral debate focused on business issues between Mayoral hopefuls Congressman Bob Filner and Councilmember Carl DeMaio. The debate will set the stage for both candidates to present their plan for strengthening San Diego's business community to ensure we can remain competitive on a national and global scale.
WHY: Developing innovative and forward-thinking business practices in San Diego is a top priority for the region's vibrant business community. The next Mayor of San Diego will need to work with regional businesses to understand their needs, believe in their goals and work to ensure they have the resources needed to maintain and grow their operations, both locally and around the world. This will stem from sound business solutions and innovative rule-making generated at the local level.
