In 1978, Martin Scorsese released The Last Waltz, a film that would set a new standard for rock music documentaries.  The film chronicled the last performance by The Band (“The Weight,” “Up on Cripple Creek”) and featured an all-star line-up of guest musicians including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, the Staples Singers and more.
