About Us

San Diego Oasis supports successful and healthy aging for adults over age 50 by encouraging lifelong learning, healthy living and community engagement. Offering over 1700 classes and activities as well as an intergenerational literacy tutoring program, we work to prevent isolation, depression and sedentary behavior, common in adults as they age. Headquartered in La Mesa at Grossmont Center Mall, with a second office location in Escondido, we partner with over 30 locations for programs to offer over 5,000 active members our services. With over 500 tutors in 103 schools around the county, our intergenerational tutoring program currently serves over 800 elementary school at risk, low income students, helping them to improve reading skills, self esteem and attitudes toward learning.
