LinkedIn Bio
Myra Pelowski was born in France, where her father was stationed as a Private in the US Army during the Berlin crisis. Myra lived with her parents and older brother, Michael, until her parents were killed in a car collision when Myra was five months old. Following the accident, Myra and Michael were adopted by their grandmother, Estela Romualdez Sulit. Estela was the Philippine Consul General in Chicago and brought Michael and Myra from France to Chicago and then Seattle. Estela was later appointed by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos as the Philippine Ambassador to Portugal. Myra learned about compassion and the importance of establishing strong relationships by watching her grandmother in her role as Ambassador.
When Myra was 10, her grandmother passed away, and she and Michael went to live with their aunt and uncle in San Diego. When they graduated from Torrey Pines High School (Myra skipped first grade, so both Myra and Michael graduated together) – Michael planned to attend UC San Diego, while Myra started at UC Davis. Michael and Myra drove from San Diego to Davis the weekend before school started. Michael took PSA 182 from Sacramento on September 25,1978 and passed away in the plane which crashed over North Park in San Diego.
Ironically, Myra’s tragic experiences propelled her to stay grounded and optimistic over the next 40 years. She is currently the Group Vice President for Oracle North America Applications, Alliances & Channels, where she leads a team focused on driving revenue with Oracle partners and values the importance of making every interaction matter.
