Your New 2023 Employment Laws

Your New 2023 Employment Laws

In 2022, the California legislature continued its typical pattern of adopting a host of new labor and employment laws that will impact both large and small employers.  Most of these laws will become effective on January 1, 2023. The cost of non-compliance is great and the investment of 90-minutes will be worth your time.

Some of the new laws discussed will include:
  • An extension of paid sick leave for COVID and other new types of mandated leave for employees
  • Job posting requirements for employers with 15+ employees
  • Changes to California’s workers’ compensation system
  • Modifications to union rules to facilitate unionization
  • Mandated retirement savings programs for small employers
  • A new minimum wage of up to $22 per hour and other requirements for fast-food restaurants
  • More training requirements for all California employers

We will discuss not only the substance of each new law but also offer practical suggestions for compliance.
